Here is a simple and easy way to improve your Cost Per Click (CPC) and make more money using Google Adsense:

A sure-fire way to find the HIGHEST PAYING GOOGLE AD for your content using Google’s Keyword Tool.

  1. Browse to Google’s Keyword Tool
  2. Select Website Content
  3. Enter your website URL (you can also enter a specific web page)
  4. Click Get keyword ideas
  5. Select Show All from the dropdown box
  6. Make sure Group keywords by common terms is checked
  7. Under Calculate Estimates using Max CPC: select $USD (or whatever currency you use)
  8. Enter 100 in the empty box (or the equivelent of $100USD in your currency)
  9. Click Recalculate
  10. Now the columns below will display the estimated cost per click (CPC) for each keyword!
  11. Click the column title Estimated Avg. CPC to sort by price. Click it one more time to sort from highest to lowest.
  12. You can now browse down the page to get an idea for which keyword phrases pay the most amount of money
  13. Now you can go back to your current articles and rewrite bits of the content, organizing phrases and keywords so they match up with the highest paying AdSense keywords. This will make a big difference, helping AdSense to place similar ads that pay much more instead of low cost per click ads.

Original Content can be found HERE.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?

This means more money for each Google Ad that is clicked on!  That’s amazing!  Instead of making between $.08 to $1.00 per click,  you can start making $10-20 per CLICK!  In no time you’ll be making hardcore money as a blogger.

What Search Engine Optimization Companies Aren’t Telling You!

Five Things that Search Engine Optimization Companies Aren’t Telling You When You Sign with Them.

I worked as a Sales Consultant and SEO Specialist at a small SEO/Website Design company for four months over the summer.  I learned everything about SEO; the thing that really stuck in my mind, however, are listed below.  Enjoy knowing the things that SEO companies won’t ever tell you!

NUMBER ONE: YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF!

This is the BIGGEST part of the SEO scam!  They’ll tell you point blank that there is no way on Earth you’ll be able to optimize your website like they can.  Well, they’re wrong (as you’ll learn in Reason 5).  Most things associated with SEO can be done in your spare time!  If you have an hour every day or two to spare (or if you want to hire someone else for a few hours a week to do it), you’ll be completely fine.  Most SEO Companies, especially those that charge thousands each month, have very few employees and a lot of clients.  What does that mean for you?  You’re paying the big bucks for the smallest amount of time spent optimizing your website! To Blog or Not to Blog

Posted by Nick On November - 27 - 2009

The question that has haunted writers for centuries: to blog or not to blog.

(….Maybe that was a bit of an exageration, but writting online isn’t what it used to be.)

A study done by ProBlogger shows that 46 to 48% of bloggers blog for money.  That means that half of all bloggers are just blogging to either make money doing what they love or are blogging just to make a quick buck.  That is really sad, ladies and gentleman.

I’ve been blogging since middle school.  I started off on LiveJournal blogging about life, posting surveys, and just writing to get my feelings out.  Then, I went on to start writing about things that actually mattered to me; friendship, love, and relationships.  Then I found WordPress and started my first official blog in college.  I wrote about issues that really concerned me, and my main concern was to blog about the events that were happening to me and the things I learned on a day-to-day basis.  I also tried to help support suicide prevention in conjunction to a friend who was struggling with her suicidal issues.

I was never in it for the money.  The only reason I put up my Google AdSense advertisements was to help pay for my hosting fees and domain name.  I also would like to blog full time, and any money coming in from doing what I love to do would be great.  I’m not trying to strike it rich, but money is what makes the world go ’round (unfortunately), so I’ll play the game as best I can.

I’ve written quite a few articles on how to help new bloggers get intigrated into the blogging world.  Here are a few examples:

Livejournal Teams Up with Google Adsense

Posted by Nick On September - 24 - 2009

Here is the email that LiveJournal users received this morning from lj_notify@livejournal.com:

If you have a paid or permanent account on LiveJournal, you can start earning some extra pocket money simply by doing what you love to do on LiveJournal, like writing, sharing photos, and catching up with friends! The more people who visit your journal, the more money you can earn. It’s that simple. You’ll get to control where ads appear and whether you prefer text or image ads. You can even customize colors and choose different ad sizes and formats. LiveJournal is turning over 100% of net proceeds to you. (After Google takes their cut, the rest is yours.)

Here’s how it works: If you sign up for Your Journal – Your Money, you’ll see Google Adsense ads displayed on your own journal. To help your friends in the program earn extra cash, you can opt-in to see ads on their pages as well. As always, paid and permanent account holders who don’t opt-in will not view ads on other LiveJournal pages.

Here’s all you’ll need to get started:

  • A paid account on LiveJournal: If you don’t have one, click here (it costs from $19.95/year)
  • Next, click here to sign up for a Google AdSense account or to associate your existing AdSense account with your LiveJournal account
  • Complete the easy sign-up process and choose the type of ads you wish to display
  • Keep posting and start earning extra income now

This is also awesome news for LiveJournal users!  If you already use LiveJournal and have a large audience, you have an opportunity to tap into that using Google Adsense.

Google’s Top Ten List of Sites to Avoid

Posted by Nick On September - 15 - 2009

I hate to just pull snippits from sites and post links, but this is a pretty serious article, so I’m going to post this really quickly with a link.

“Google’s security team has identified the current Top 10 malware sites in the world. The list reads like a rogue’s gallery of the darker side of the web. Sites listed generally use ‘drive-by downloading’ to install and run malware on vistors’ computers automatically. To make things worse many of these domains are linked through to via advertising and other third party content on a vast number of high-traffic websites (Google serves up, nextweb.com). ”

You can find this list here.

Wordpress Users Must Update [ATTACK ALERT]

Posted by Nick Reitz On September - 5 - 2009

Older version of WordPress are being attacked and characters are being added to the permalinks. Sure signs of the attack include strange characters in your permalinks (single posts do not work) and an extra administrator account in the users control panel which you cannot see. Look for the administrator count in brackets at the top. Is the number there what you would expect on your blog (Weblogtools).

Please update your Wordpress Blog now before you continue reading this article!  It is just that important.

The warning comes from Lorelle on WordPress after it was discovered that a nasty attack is exploiting security holes in previous versions of the blogging software, creating a new “hidden” Administrator account and getting right down to the database level. These attacks are said to be “growing by the hour”. Lorelle writes:

There are two clues that your WordPress site has been attacked.

There are strange additions to the pretty permalinks, such as example.com/category/post-title/%&(%7B$%7Beval(base64_decode($_SERVER%5BHTTP_REFERER%5D))%7D%7D|.+)&%/. The keywords are “eval” and “base64_decode.”

The second clue is that a “back door” was created by a “hidden” Administrator. Check your site users for “Administrator (2)” or a name you do not recognize. You will probably be unable to access that account.

All users are advised to upgrade to the latest version of WP, while those already affected are in for a trying weekend: you’ll likely need to export your all your content with the built-in XML WordPress export, uninstall and reinstall WordPress and re-import the content. It’s a nasty attack that goes all the way into the database, so exporting the database will result in exporting the hacked code too.

For those unaffected: upgrade today. For those affected: the WordPress community is here to help (mashable).

To Prevent Your Account:

To prevent this form of attack, update your WordPress site IMMEDIATELY to the latest version. Change ALL passwords to a strong password immediately, including WordPress blog access for all users, database, FTP, control panels, everything (Lorelle).

If You’ve Been Attacked:

If your site has already been attacked, it appears that the hack attacks the database, going deep. We’re looking for solutions, but the easiest appears to be to export all your content with the built-in XML WordPress export (pre 2.1 versions, try the WordPress-to-WordPress Import WordPress Plugin) and literally remove your WordPress installation totally (save images and general files). DO NOT EXPORT YOUR DATABASE! Install the latest version of WordPress and add the “clean” backup of your WordPress Theme, then import the XML export. The export will contain your posts, Pages, and comments, and hopefully no other hacked code (Lorelle).

Social Experiment: The Twitter-Blogger

Posted by Nick On September - 3 - 2009

Social Experiment: The Twitter-Blogger

The Purpose of A Tweeting Blog

The original idea I had for A Tweeting Blog was to help other blogs advertise their blogs without the hassel of having to find hundreds of followers.  A Tweeting Blog is simple: First, follow @ATweetingBlog.  Next, tweet this exactly as it is:

@ATweetingBlog is a social experiment http://bit.ly/HvGX5 RT and send blog link!

After you tweet this, send a Direct Message to @ATweetingBlog with your blog’s url (perferably already shortened.  You can shorten your URL by posting your link on twitter.  Twitter will give you the http://bit.ly/ shortened version) and 50 or so characters summarizing your site.  Here is a good example:

@Google Help #killsuicide! http://act.ly/h8 and sign the #googlepetition and help prevent suicide.

You can use however many #hashtags and @usernames you would like.  This will then be seen by all of this account’s followers which boosts the chance of your site being found, bookmarked, or subscribed to.

Again, What Do I Do?

Here are the simple steps:

  1. Follow @ATweetingBlogTwitter Tweeting Blog
  2. Retweet ” @ATweetingBlog is a social experiment http://bit.ly/HvGX5 RT and send blog link! “nick twitter social experiment
  3. Send a DM to @ATweetingBlog with your blog’s URL and description.
  4. Sit back and watch the traffic roll into your blog.

It’s a very effective way of marketing.  You advertise the twitter account in which your advertisements are also placed; when people follow @ATweetingBlog, there is a higher chance that your site will be visited as well.  It’s a win-win situation!

Help Kill Suicide! Google Petition to Support Suicide Prevention

Posted by Nick Reitz On September - 1 - 2009

H E L P K I L L S U I C I D E

This petition is for Google to support suicide prevention. Google is a colossal internet organization and the most recognized and powerful brand in the world. They gross in billions of dollars of revenue each year. This petition is asking Google to donate $5 dollars to the charity “To Write Love On Her Arms” for every person who signs this petition.

Now, if you haven’t read my article on “To Write Love On Her Arms” (TWLOHA), To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.  TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery (TWLOHA Website).  You can help TWLOHA yourself by clicking on the SocialVibe Widget on the sidebar and rating the Sprint video.  Sprint will then, in turn, donate a small amount to the charity.  It will only take a few seconds on your time and your help could mean the difference of life or death to someone considering suicide.

We need to have 200,000 people sign this petition by New Years Eve of this year (2009) to raise $1,000,000.  We can do it, but only if you spread the word!  Please retweet this post, post the link on facebook, e-mail the link to  your friends, and anything else you can think of.  Our goal is to get as many people to sign the petition as possible.

If we can get just 100 people to sign the petition, we have potentially raised $500 dollars for charity!  If 1,000 people sign, that would be $5,000!  The possibilities are endless, and all it takes is for you to just sign the petition and retweet it, post it on facebook, and spread the word.

Together, we can help kill suicide!  If you use twitter, use the hash tags #googlepetition and #killsuicide.

Haven’t retweeted the petition yet?  Do so with the button below.  Want to embed the retweet button on your own site or blog?  The embed code can be found by clicking here and scrolling to the bottom of the page.  You can also link directly to this page by using this link: http://bit.ly/2o8YtA
